Dr. Sasha Nikolic
Head of Students (UG Eng), University of Wollongong, Australia.
Sasha Nikolic received the B.E. (telecommunications) in 2001 and PhD in Engineering Education in 2017 from the University of Wollongong, Wollongong, Australia. He spent several years in industry and has worked in a number of fields including retail, electronics manufacturing and IT. In 2006 he commenced as Laboratory Manager at the University of Wollongong. In 2014, he became an Associate Lecturer in engineering education, in 2016 a Lecturer and in 2019 a Senior Lecturer. Dr Nikolic won a university Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning Award in 2011 and 2018. In 2012 and 2019, he was awarded an Australian Awards for University Teaching Citation. He also received awards for his contribution to engineering education through the IEEE, AAEE, ASCILITE and other institutions. He became a member of AAEE in 2014, Senior IEEE Member in 2015 and is a Senior Fellow of the Wollongong Academy of Tertiary Teaching and Learning Excellence. Sasha has served as a Chapter Chair of the Education Society, General Co-Chair for IEEE TALE2018 and held multiple positions for other IEEE Conferences and events. He is currently Past Chair for the IEEE New South Wales Section, Secretary of the IEEE Australia Council and has served on many IEEE committees. He is an Associate Editor for the Australasian Journal of Engineering Education and European Journal of Engineering Education.
