The IEEE Young Professionals Affinity Group of IEEE Pune Section organized a much needed 3 day workshop on “MATLAB for Electrical Engineers” from 9th to 11th of March, 2017 with the assistance of the Department of Electrical Engineering, PVG’s COET, Pune.
The aim of the workshop was to teach young engineers the basics of MATLAB operation as well as show them the necessities of MATLAB in the field of engineering research and development. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Hrishikesh Mehta who currently works as a freelance electrical engineer. Mr. Mehta has wide experience in automation and control. The workshop was divided into theoretical as well as practical sessions. The practical sessions consisted of both software and hardware coordination and control and were well appreciated by the participants.
A total of 35 engineers were trained on the use of Simulink and various block sets of MATLAB as a professional software. They were satisfied with the content of course covering basic scripts, functions, blocksets s well as GUI etc. Some attendees were young engineers from start-up companies who participated enthusiastically in the workshop. IEEE Pune Young Professionals hope to organize more workshops of this category to help fresh graduates in their path.
