NEXUS
Overview
Welcome to the IEEE Region 10 Young Professionals (YP) Nexus Project, an initiative aimed at establishing a dynamic and inclusive platform to foster connections, and collaboration, among YP Affinity Groups (YP AGs) within IEEE Region 10. Our project focuses on supporting YP AGs across the region, bringing together YP Chairs and representatives from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations to facilitate knowledge exchange, mentorship opportunities, and leadership development initiatives.
Purpose
Through the IEEE Region 10 YP Nexus, nominated representatives will engage in meaningful discussions, share best practices, and leverage the expertise of senior IEEE leaders and volunteers for AG best practices and collaboration. By nurturing a supportive and inclusive environment, we aim to empower YPs and YP AGs in Region 10 to maximize their potential in contributing effectively to the advancement of technology and society, serving the mission and vision of IEEE Young Professionals.
Key Objectives
- R10 YP Nexus Platform: Enable YP AG Leaders (AG Chairs & Representatives) to connect, communicate, and collaborate with peers and senior IEEE leaders - regionally & globally.
- Organize YP AG Leader Meetups: Conduct regular regional leadership meetups & networking events to facilitate intersection collaboration & best practice sharing.
- Micro Training Sessions: Brief “how-to” training sessions on various topics including but not limited to Submitting a Successful Funding Proposal, Vtools Reporting, Award Nominations etc.
- Facilitate Leadership Exchange Sessions: Pair new & emerging new YP AG Leaders with active & experienced leaders to provide guidance, advice, and development support through leadership exchange sessions.
Nomination Eligibility
- Nominees for the IEEE Region 10 YP NEXUS Representative position must currently be inducted as Executive Committee Member of the respective AG in a role other than AG Chair, and as reported in Vtools.
- Nominations must be submitted by either the YP AG Chair or the Section Chair of the respective section under IEEE Region 10.
- The nominated AG Representative must be willing to contribute at least four hours per month in different activities and meetings in coordination with the NEXUS Zonal Leads.
