Bangladesh Young Professionals organizes Banglalink’s “Strategic Assistant Program”

IEEE Young Professional Bangladesh organized a seminar to promote Banglalink’s “Strategic Assistant Program” on 22 February, 2017. The event was in collaboration with IEEE Bangladesh Section and hosted by Department of EEE, BUET. More than 70 fresh graduates from different disciplines of engineering participated in the event. Banglalink is one of the leading cellular service providers in Bangladesh. Banglalink’s “Strategic Assistant Program” is a part of their process in hiring one of the best minds across the country. This basically gives the opportunity to fresh graduates to kick start their career and develop themselves into a leader of tomorrow.

Four distinguished personnel from Banglalink were present at the event and shared their valuable experience and guidelines for the program. Mr. Abu Saleh and Mr. Aqeeb Iqbal Arka, both currently working as a Strategic Assistants shared their wonderful experience and gave a brief overview of their journey. Generally, these strategic assistants are given the chance to manage and lead crucial strategic projects in different functions as well as gain knowledge about each unit of the huge organization. The total program duration is 1 year. After 1 year, they will be given a permanent position. The hiring process of the Strategic Assistant Program include an Online Application, an Aptitude Test, a Primary Interview, an Assessment Center and a Final Interview. After this, Mr. Md. Zahirul Haque Torun, Resource Business Partner & Head of Employee Relations, shared important insights on hiring the process and his experience as an interviewer. Mr. Shehab Raihan, Head of Radio Planning, talked about the future of the Telecommunication Industry.

The seminar was arranged to promote Banglalink’s Strategic Assistant Program. It was a great opportunity for the fresh graduates as they got to meet the people who are involved in the hiring process itself.  The program was very lively and dynamic with questions and answers from both end. IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh, along with Banglalink, are trying their best to bring out the seminar in every leading engineering institution to give a first and quick outlook of the work experience and to help them to achieve success in one of the major telecommunication industry of Bangladesh.
